As noted in these pages, the underlying principle and reason for being of the I.O. Silver Foundation is to raise money to fight heart disease, the disease that kills one out of every two Americans, both men and women. Many people work and play hard to help raise these funds, all of which go to the support of Penn State Heart & Vascular Institute at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. There are no paid support staff members of our foundation. All of the money goes to our cause.

The I.O. Silver Foundation has been teamed with Penn State Heart & Vascular Institute for over 14 years. Since this partnership was formed all funds have been donated to fighting Cardiovascular Disease in South Central Pennsylvania. Through the hard work and dedication of the staff of the Foundation, those who labor to meet the challenges of our Mission, and the participation of the public in our various events we are making a difference in treating the effects of cardiovascular disease in our community.
